Parc i Castell de Can Jalpí – A Quiet Surprise in Arenys de Munt

If you like places that are a little off the radar, with a few surprises and plenty of trees, this might just be your kind of park in Maresme

Parc de Can Jalpí in Arenys de Munt isn’t a major destination—but that’s exactly why it’s worth a visit. With its unexpected lake-and-castle view, winding forest paths, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s one of those places that quietly impresses.

The park is set across several levels, and depending on where you start, you might need to head uphill on unpaved paths, which aren’t ideal for strollers or wheelchairs.

If you want to go straight to the main attraction, there’s a short, unpaved path to the castle that’s a bit steep but manageable with a stroller. Unfortunately, Castell Jalpí is privately owned and can’t be visited—so you’ll enjoy it from the outside.

Visiting with kids

What makes this place stand out is the mix of elements: tall trees, leafy pathways, a calm lake, and that surprising view of the castle tucked into the greenery. It’s a great spot to wander, take a breath—and snap a photo—with or without kids.

Older kids might enjoy a walk through the trails, while little ones will likely be drawn to the lake, which is home to some wildlife: fish, turtles, ducks, and birds.

You’ll also find a playground, picnic area, sports area, and an information point for the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor, which includes a permanent exhibition of local fauna and the projection of two short films about the park.
